Singapore’s FengHe Fund Management plans to open an office in Hong Kong in the second half of this year, according to Reuters, citing Kwek Hyen Yong, chief executive officer of the hedge fund manager.
The firm has leased office space at Two International Finance Centre in Hong Kong’s central business district, and is in the process of applying for an asset management licence, the news agency says in a report on March 19.
“As we continue to hire across Asia, we aim to provide greater flexibility to our existing team members and new joiners who prefer to be based in their chosen cities,” Kwek says.
He says FengHe has about US$9 billion of assets under management currently.
Spokespersons for the firm did not immediately respond to questions from Asia Asset Management.
