Nippon Life aJapan’s Nippon Life Insurance and Blackstone Inc have teamed up in a strategic partnership in which the US alternative investment giant will provide private credit and real estate investment services to the Osaka-based life insurance company.
Nippon Life aims to “enhance its asset management sophistication by improving risk-return profiles while consistently securing high-quality investment opportunities” through the partnership, the insurer says in a statement on June 3, adding that it expects the move to contribute to “delivering greater value to policyholders and achieving further growth of the group”.
The team-up between the two companies also includes mutual personnel exchange, such as secondment of trainees.
Nippon Life has around 91 trillion yen (US$569 billion) of assets and New York-based Blackstone manages over $1.3 trillion of assets. nd US alternatives giant Blackstone form strategic partnership.
