Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and Singapore’s DayOne are developing a data centre campus in Indonesia.
The campus, located in the Nongsa Digital Park in Batam, is expected to be fully constructed by the end of this year, according to a joint statement from Singapore lenders DBS Group and United Overseas Bank on June 10.
The two banks have extended 6.7 trillion rupiah (US$411 million) of financing to the Indonesian sovereign wealth fund and data centre firm DayOne for the project.
The campus will have total capacity of 72 megawatts when completed, equivalent to 5% of Indonesia’s projected data centre capacity of 1.41 gigawatts by 2029.
Established in 2021, INA’s goals are to strengthen the economy by investing in key sectors, and help finance economic development by attracting foreign funds as co-investors.
