State Street Investment Management is investing in India’s Groww Asset Management, which manages around US$3.3 billion of assets, as the US company seeks to strengthen its product distribution in the South Asian nation.
Karnataka-based Groww, the investment arm of Indian digital investment platform Billionbrains Garage Ventures, offers tech-driven investment solutions to retail investors.
State Street Investment announced the investment in Groww in a statement on January 14 without disclosing the dollar figure.
The deal will enable State Street Investment to “deliver a range of investment exposures to a broader population, and build a pipeline of Indian exposures for global distribution”, according to Yie-Hsin Hung, the company’s chief executive officer.
“Our partnership with Groww Asset Management allows us to participate directly in the growth of India’s domestic asset management market,” she says.
The deal is subject to regulatory approval.
Boston-based State Street Investment managed $5.5 trillion of assets as of September 2025.
