Singapore’s True Global Ventures has secured a capital markets services licence that will allow it to expand beyond managing venture capital funds.
The licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore designates the company as a licensed fund manager for accredited investors, True Global says in a statement on August 19.
According to the firm, its new investment strategies may include managing continuation funds investing in primary rounds and secondaries; fund of funds; and selective investments in listed firms that align with its core themes in artificial intelligence and blockchain.
“This milestone [the new licence] enables us to build on TGV’s strong track record, and with immediate effect we can invest more in secondaries without restrictions from our previous licence,” says Beatrice Lion, chief executive officer of True Global.
