Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) has tapped Jaehyun Joo from the Bank of Korea as chief risk officer and executive vice president of its investment management division.
He takes over from Hoseok Jung, whose term ended last August.
The sovereign wealth fund announced Joo’s three-year appointment on its website on April 17.
He joins KIC after 21 years at the Bank of Korea, during which he held a number of senior positions, including head of the investment strategy team, head of the investment planning team, and director general of the reserve management planning department.
KIC managed around US$232 billion of assets as of December 2025.
