Taiwan’s Fubon Life Insurance, which has been expanding its alternative investment portfolio in recent years, is set to invest up to US$20 million in a private equity and infrastructure fund managed by French investment firm Ardian France SA.
The Luxembourg-domiciled ASF IX Infrastructure Main SCSp. fund focuses on brownfield, income-generating infrastructure assets globally, especially in North America and Europe.
The investment “aligns with the company’s strategy to allocate capital into private equity and infrastructure funds”, Fubon Life, Taiwan’s second largest life insurer with around NT$6.2 trillion ($193.4 billion) of assets, says in a statement on March 13.
The companyhas invested a total of $233 billion in private equity funds managed by US investment firms Blackstone Inc., Accel Management Co. and Insight Partners since 2023.
