J.P. Morgan Asset Management has launched its first active exchange-traded fund in Taiwan.
The fund will mainly invest in US technology stocks, and is designed to deliver potential outperformance and enhanced risk diversification through active management, the US asset management firm says in a statement on September 17. The public subscription period is from September 30 to October 3.
Henry Tong, the company’s Taiwan chief executive officer, noted that although competition in the local ETF market is fierce, most products are passive and concentrated in local stocks and US bonds.
“The launch of the ETF draws on our global expertise in active management to help local ETF investors diversify their portfolios and broaden the scope of Taiwan’s ETF landscape,” he says.
J.P. Morgan Asset Management managed US$3.7 trillion of assets as of end-March, including over $299.5 billion across 145 ETFs globally.
