Hong Kong’s Value Partners Group has hired Winne Lam from First Sentier Investors to be the managing director of the chief operating officer’s office, a newly created position in which she will be responsible for managing the operations and back-office functions of the asset management firm.
Lam was the head of operations at First Sentier, an Australian investment firm.
At Value Partners, she reports to Cheah Cheng Hye and Louis So, the co-chairmen and co-chief investment officers, the company says in a statement on July 15, when her appointment took effect.
“She is well-respected in the industry and brings in decades of experience in leading operations management, as Value Partners seeks to capture new growth opportunities arising from the opening up of China’s financial services sector and expansion into different asset classes,” Hye and So say in the statement.
The company has also hired Nikita Ng as finance director. She was formerly the financial controller at Fortress Investment Group & Mount Kellett Capital, a US-based multi-strategy investment firm. Her appointment was effective July 5.
Value Partners had US$14.2 billion of total assets as of December 2020.
