US property investment firm LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Kunihiko Okumura as Japan chief executive officer.
He takes over the role from Keith Fujii, who is both head of Asia Pacific as well as Japan CEO at present, LaSalle says in a statement on March 8.
The appointment is effective March 31. He will also then become representative director of LaSalle Japan, succeeding Yasuo Nakashima who is leaving the firm on April 1.
Okumura is currently head of acquisitions and asset management of LaSalle Japan and co-chief investment officer of LaSalle Asia Pacific.
“These leadership transitions follow a succession planning spanning several years, during which we worked to develop a robust talent pipeline,” Fujii says in the statement.
LaSalle has also promoted Itaru Nogami to manage its Japan property fund, taking over from Ryota Morioka, who is leaving the firm.
Nogami is now a deputy fund manager at LaSalle Japan. The appointment is also effective March 31.
Chicago-based LaSalle had around US$79 billion of assets as of September 2022.
