The Philippines’ government has appointed Rolando L. Macasaet as acting president and chief executive officer of the Social Security System (SSS).
According to SSS in a statement on January 10, former SSS President and CEO Michael G. Regino turned over the leadership to Macasaet in a ceremony held on the same day, at the SSS Main Office in Quezon City.
Macasaet is the 20th President and CEO of the SSS.
“He will now be responsible for the general conduct of the operations and management functions of the SSS, carrying out of its programs, and implementation of the policies of the Social Security Commission (SSC), the highest governing board and policy-making body of the SSS,” SSS says in the statement.
Macasaet is the former president of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), a pension fund for civil servants. He left in July 2022 after serving for two years.
SSS had 710.43 billion peso (US$12.97 billion) of assets under management as of end-June 2022.
