Singapore’s Avanda Investment Management has hired Wee Ai Ning from AIA Investment Management as chief investment officer.
Avanda announced the appointment in a posting on LinkedIn on November 6, saying that Wee will lead and drive investment strategies as the company embarks on its “next stage of growth”.
It’s not clear whom she replaced.
Wee, who confirmed her appointment, was CIO of AIA Investment Management, the asset management arm of Hong Kong-based insurer AIA Group Ltd.
She has also held senior roles at Singapore companies, including as group CIO of insurer Great Eastern Life Assurance Co. Ltd and chief executive officer of asset management firm Tudor Capital.
Established in 2015, Avanda was founded by Ng Kok Song, former CIO of Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC Pte Ltd.
The company does not disclose its asset data on its website. According to a Bloomberg report in February 2022, Avanda had around US$10 billion of assets under management.
