State Street Investment Management has tapped Jean‑Francois Mesnard‑Sense from the Hong Kong bourse for a newly created role as head of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa exchange-traded fund capital markets.
He has also been appointed as managing director at the US investment firm, and reports to Gunjan Chauhan, global head of ETF capital markets and markets intelligence.
The company announced his appointment in a statement on May 27.
Mesnard‑Sense isn’t new to State Street Investment. He worked at the firm for five years as an ETF capital markets specialist before joining Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing in 2023 as head of exchange-traded products.
A spokesperson for State Street Group tells Asia Asset Management that the company is “pleased” to have him back. “We’re confident that his deep expertise will be instrumental in accelerating our growth,” she says.
Boston-based State Street Investment Management managed around US$5.6 trillion of assets as of March 2026.
