US asset manager LaSalle Investment Management has promoted Steve Hyung Kim to co-chief investment officer for Asia Pacific, and he and fellow CIO Kunihiko Okumura will be promoted to co-heads of Asia Pacific in July.
Kim’s promotion to co-CIO is to replace Claire Tang, who is leaving the company by the end of this month.
He will keep his current role as head of Korea, while Okumura will continue as chief executive officer for Japan, LaSalle says in a statement on February 13.
They will become co-heads of Asia Pacific on July 1, succeeding Keith Fujii, who will take on the role of chairman of Asia Pacific and retain his position as chairperson of the region’s investment committee.
Kim and Okumura, who will remain as co-CIOs, will join LaSalle’s global management committee.
LaSalle had US$88.2 billion of assets under management as of end-September 2024.
