Malaysia’s stock exchange operator is looking to unveil a new multi-year roadmap that aims to boost growth, diversify revenue streams and bolster its long-term competitiveness, in the fourth quarter.
Fad’l Mohamed, chief executive officer of Bursa Malaysia, said the bourse has been working on the 2027-2030 plan since the end of last year. Its current blueprint is for 2023-2026.
“We are now in the process of finalising our strategic roadmap,” he said at a media briefing on July 30, when the bourse published its first-half financial results.
He said Bursa Malaysia plans to expand its suite of exchange-traded funds, including digital currency ETFs, and is also exploring opportunities in emerging areas such as tokenisation and expansion of post-trade service offerings.
The bourse recorded a net profit of 144.61 million ringgit (US$35.35 million) in the first half of 2026, up 15.25% from 125.48 million ringgit in the same period last year.
